American Dream
About This Home
Baufritz has been building ecological timber homes since 1896, and the American Dream is their most culturally specific model: a deliberate reinterpretation of traditional American residential architecture built with Baufritz's ecological construction methods. The prominent veranda, arched windows, and cross gables reference American vernacular architecture directly, while the ecological timber frame and German engineering standards apply throughout.
Baufritz's proprietary ecological insulation system, high-quality sustainable materials, and optional basement configuration are all part of the specification. Multiple levels can be configured to suit different household requirements. Smart home integration and energy-efficient systems are available, consistent with the wider Baufritz range.
At 60 m° of listed floor space across a 15.50 by 13 metre footprint, there is more site coverage than internal area, which reflects the veranda and architectural detailing rather than a lack of interior space. The American Dream is a niche choice for buyers who want a genuinely distinct architectural reference rather than any variation on conventional European residential form. Layouts are customisable. German standards apply, with UK compliance confirmed on a project by project basis.
What We Love
The American Dream is the only model in the Baufritz range built around a non-European architectural reference: the veranda, arched windows, and cross gables are genuine architectural decisions, not styling touches applied to a standard plan.
