Barn L
About This Home
The Barn L takes its name seriously. The steep-pitched roof and vertical timber cladding draw directly from agricultural barn architecture, and at 29.45 x 19.45 m the form carries real conviction at this scale. It is one of Baufritz's larger residential designs, with two full storeys and loft space allowing for generous room configurations without compromising ceiling height or proportion.
Constructed using Baufritz's ecological timber frame system, the Barn L includes their patented wood shaving insulation and triple-glazed windows as standard. Allergy-friendly, chemical-free materials are used throughout, and large covered outdoor spaces extend the usable footprint. The barn aesthetic is not merely decorative: the pitched roof geometry and timber cladding contribute meaningfully to the building's thermal and structural performance.
Interior arrangements are flexible and customisable. German standards apply; UK compliance is confirmed per project.
What We Love
The barn form is executed with real commitment here. At this scale, the steep pitch and timber cladding do genuine structural and thermal work, not just aesthetic work.
