Baufritz has been building timber homes in Bavaria since 1896, and the Kochenrath-Friede is one of the more compact entries in their catalogue at just over 35 m². Two storeys allow the floor plan to work harder than the footprint suggests, with an open-plan ground floor that draws in natural light and keeps the layout flexible.
Construction uses Baufritz's ecological timber frame and their proprietary wood shaving insulation, developed in-house and widely regarded as one of the best natural insulation systems available in European housebuilding. The facade uses mixed contemporary materials, and the design has a clean, modern feel rather than leaning on Baufritz's more traditional alpine vocabulary. Smart home integration and advanced climate control are available as options.
Customisation of interior layouts and finishes is standard practice at Baufritz, and German engineering standards apply throughout. UK compliance is confirmed on a project by project basis.
