At 56 m², it uses the same post-and-beam timber frame system as their standalone homes, which keeps the structural footprint light and allows the glazing to dominate, with floor-to-ceiling windows creating panoramic views where the setting allows.
The open-plan interior can be configured to the owner's brief, whether that's a bedroom suite, studio, or living space. High-performance thermal insulation and triple glazing are standard. Smart home systems and climate control integration are available options.
This type of addition requires careful structural assessment of the host building and will need planning permission in most UK contexts. HUF HAUS provide design consultation as part of the process.
